Where are tutoring sessions held?
All tutoring sessions are held in person at the Oviedo Public Library.
How long is a tutoring session?
Tutoring sessions are offered in two lengths:
- 25-minute sessions
- 50-minute sessions
How often should students meet with a tutor?
The recommended frequency varies by student. Some students benefit from weekly sessions, while others may prefer short-term or exam-focused support.
Do you assign homework or practice problems?
Practice may be suggested when helpful, but tutoring sessions primarily focus on understanding concepts, working through problems together, and building confidence. Any recommended practice is tailored to the student and aligned with their coursework.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This policy helps ensure availability for all students and respect for scheduled time.
How do I know if tutoring is working?
Progress can be seen in several ways, including improved confidence, stronger problem-solving skills, increased participation in class, and better performance on assignments and assessments.
When might Math Journeys not be a good fit?
Math Journeys may not be the best fit for students seeking online tutoring or guaranteed grade outcomes. Sessions are designed to support understanding and skill development through active student participation.
